How I Rediscovered Myself After Losing My Identity in Motherhood
I can still remember the exact moment I realized something was missing.
I wasn’t unhappy — I love my family deeply. But somewhere between busy mornings, endless to-do lists, and always putting everyone else’s needs first, I had completely stopped making time for myself.
What was left? A tired, stretched-thin version of me who no longer felt confident, energized, or connected to the woman I used to be.

If you’ve ever felt the same, I want to share my story — not just because it’s mine, but because it might help you start your own path back to you.
It didn’t happen all at once…
At first, it was little things — skipping my skincare routine because I was too tired, wearing the same worn-out clothes because they were “practical,” putting my hobbies on hold until “things slowed down” (spoiler: they never did).
One morning, after a chaotic school drop-off, I caught my reflection in the car mirror. My hair was a mess, I had terrible skin (stress and hormone overload), and for a second, I thought… When did I stop caring about myself?
That moment hit me hard — not because of how I looked, but because I realized how far I’d drifted from the confident, vibrant woman I used to know.
I didn’t want to feel resentful, exhausted, and invisible anymore. And while I didn’t know exactly how to “fix” it, I knew I needed to start somewhere. That small decision is what led me here today.

Why It’s So Common to Lose Yourself in Motherhood
Motherhood is beautiful, but it’s also demanding. It shifts priorities, rearranges your time, and in the process, your identity can quietly fade into the background.
It’s not selfish to notice that — or to want more for yourself. In fact, rediscovering who you are benefits everyone in your life, because it allows you to show up with more energy, joy, and confidence.
5 Steps I Took to Rediscover Myself
Step 1: Admitting I Deserved More Balance
The first step was acknowledging I needed something beyond survival mode. I wanted balance — a life that included my roles as mom, partner, and businesswoman plus time for my own growth and confidence.

Step 2: Bringing Back Small Acts of Self-Care
Self-care wasn’t about hours at a spa — it was about reclaiming moments.
Five minutes with my skincare routine. Drinking my coffee without reheating it three times. Taking a short walk.
These small habits inspired my 5-Day Self-Care Rituals Challenge — quick, practical steps any busy woman can fit into her life to start feeling more like herself again. You can grab it here and start today.
Step 3: Reconnecting with My Confidence
For me, confidence started with how I cared for myself. A simple beauty routine was more than makeup — it was a reminder that I mattered.
Your confidence might come from beauty, movement, creativity, or learning something new. The important part is reconnecting to the things that make you feel alive.

Step 4: Surrounding Myself With Encouragement
One of the biggest changes came from connecting with women who also valued growth, self-care, and confidence.
This is why I love sharing what I’ve learned with my clients and community — it’s about building spaces where women can lift each other up and rediscover who they are.

Step 5: Following Through with Small Wins
Progress doesn’t have to be massive to be meaningful. Small wins — sticking to a skincare routine, saying yes to yourself, setting and reaching small goals — are what build lasting confidence.
Where I Am Now
Life is still busy, but it’s more balanced. I still show up as a mom, a businesswoman, a friend — but I also make time for the woman I am outside of those roles.

And I want the same for you.
